I have over 25 years experience in both research and human/animal assisted reproductive technologies. I am an established lab manager/director as well as consultant level embryologist. I have worked in the UK as a locum embryologist at IVF Wales in Cardiff, Herts and Essex Fertility Centre, North Middlesex NHS Fertility Unit, and The Regional Fertility Centre, Belfast. Before returning to the UK, I was the Scientific Director of The Flinders Repoductive Medicine Unit in Adelaide, Australia. I have designed and established IVF units from the 'ground-up'and performed duties as an off site scientific director in such diverse places as Eastern Europe, Middle East and India. I also had full-time employment in the UK at Essex Fertility Centre, London Womens Clinic and Benenden Fertility Centre (which I designed and established).

I am a HFEA licensed ICSI practitioner and pioneered blastocyst and embryo biopsy techniques in the early 90's. I can perform all procedures of a modern IVF unit and I am particularly proud of my ICSI success rates.

I have used all manner of different media (even developing the early sequential media as well as consulting on media performance), culture conditions and micromanipulation rigs to perform embryological duties and my experience allows me to adapt and ‘fit-in’ quickly to new environments and assist with training of junior staff.

If you find yourself in need of a locum, please consider me carefully. I am able to travel but currently only accepting off-site consultancy. I can assist in implementation of quality management systems or laboratory/unit design having established IVF units from conception to fully functional. I am happy to consult from a distance if you require input on any matter embryological!

I can advise on purchase of capital equipment as i have good working relationships with many of the key suppliers to IVF units (esp. in UK and Europe) and having established IVF Units, can provide 'real-world' advice on best investment for productivity.
