Certificate in Clinical Embryology - Association of Clinical Embryologists - UK

Administered and awarded by the Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) Training Committee.

The Certificate is a practical based qualification appropriate for degree entrants employed as Clinical Scientists on the grade A scale, and those in other places of work.

A suitably experienced 'in house' embryologist is necessary to act as a Supervisor, and a member of the Training Committee will act as an Assessor providing overall guidance.

It consists of a log book subdivided into Modules that documents the candidate's performance of the various practical procedures used in assisted reproduction.

It includes responses to short answer questions, an essay and an incident report at the end of each Module

It provides parity with other clinical scientists in the NHS, and will be an essential requirement to apply for state registration and for future employers.

Completion of the Certificate is expected to take 2 years.

Applications are invited from full members of the ACE (i.e. those working in the UK) and can be obtained from Dr. Karen Gunasena, ACE Training Secretariat. The cost is ?500.
