Training opportunity in clinical embryology and andrology techniques is offered by  the Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center in Beachwood- a beautiful suburb located just  outside Cleveland, Ohio. This is one of the few  courses  where  embryology  and micromanipulation training is done  in the clinical  IVF laboratory setting. It is a rare and unique opportunity to interact with the embryologists and the IVF Lab Director at  the Cleveland Clinic’s premier  IVF program.   This training program is conducted by Nina Desai, Ph.D.,HCLD. Director of the IVF Laboratory and Research Laboratories at the Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center.  The laboratory is staffed with six embryologists and two andrologists.  Cleveland Clinic Fertility Center in Beachwood does almost 500 fresh cycles a year plus over 150 frozen transfer cycles. All embryo freezing is done by vitrification. We are the largest IVF center in northeastern Ohio. The IVF program and protocols are well established and have led to consistently high pregnancy outcomes   Workshops offer hands-on training in basic and advanced Clinical Embryology and Andrology. A Certificate of Training at the Cleveland Clinic IVF Laboratory is awarded upon completion of the course.  Participants will be given an opportunity to view all clinical procedures and interact with clinical embryologists, andrologists and physicians.  Micromanipulation training sessions are usually 3 days. A comprehensive one week training course covering  all aspects of embryology including embryo vitrification on cryoloops/cryotips  and  micromanipulation training is available  for a cost of $5000 to students with some basic embryology/andrology background.  For those only interested in observing Clinical Procedures  special arrangements can be made  for a 2 day  visit  followed by a discussion session with the team of IVF physicians, nurses, embryologists and andtrologists. Custom tailored courses are available for Gynecologists interested in a general overview of IVF procedures  and setting up of an IVF program. Requirements:
This is a very intense hands-on training course in practical IVF conducted in the clinical IVF setting (versus a research setting). For this reason, we are very selective in students invited to participate in our courses.
