On the 14th February 2009, Martin Johnson, Professor of Reproductive Sciences University of Cambridge and President of Christ’s College, organised a special meeting celebrating "40 years of IVF".

The lectures all focus on different aspects of the beginnings of IVF and the difficulties involved. The first lecture focusses on the Nature paper "Early Stages of Fertilization in vitro of Human Oocytes Matured in vitro" by R. G. Edwards, B. D. Bavister and P. C. Steptoe. and is presented by Professor Martin Johnson.
