| The new range of ICSI-Plus™ pipettes from RI have a sharper tip for better penetration. They also do not suffer, like some pipettes, with sperm irreversibly sticking in the pipettes. The new design provides a consistently smooth action and has been developed in RI’s new cutting edge cleanroom facility. ICSI-Plus™ injection micropipette features include a parallel section for fine sperm control, a sharp bevel formed by RI’s unique, specialised production equipment, a sharp spike and a consistent opening diameter with no closing or deformation near the tip where the spike has been formed. Non-spiked versions are also available. Both spiked and non-spiked ICSI-Plus™ micropipettes are available with bend angles of 0°, 20°, 25°, 30° and 35°. The pipettes are packaged in RI’s Twista-Pak™ which provides easy, damage free removal of the pipette and are colour coded to aid identification. The micropipettes are embryo safety tested on a batch basis using the highest industry pass mark in Mouse Embryo Assay (MEA) – at least 80% of the test embryos must reach the blastocyst stage at day 6. The batches are also certified free of endotoxins by the Limulus Amoebocyte Lysate (LAL) test (<0.5 Eu/ml pass mark). Micropipettes are sterilised by an approved gamma irradiation facility meeting ISO 11137 standards. |

The RI pH Meter provides accurate, real-time analysis of media pH within the incubator using its unique custom IVF pH probe. The probe fits into all incubators and allows embryologists to adjust the CO2 concentration to obtain the correct pH in the media. No more guesswork or assumptions when trying to deliver the correct pH for the media being used. Measuring the pH of culture media accurately is extremely difficult because the pH of media droplets under oil shifts above 7.4 within just 2mins 30 seconds of removal from the incubator. So the likelihood is, if measuring the pH of media outside of the incubator, that you are measuring artefact pH Levels. How is it used? A media droplet is made up in the pH probe well and placed in the incubator. The thin ribbon cable can be passed out through a sample port or through the incubator door. The pH meter will then measure the pH in real-time displaying the value on the digital readout. How does it work? The probe has a semiconductor sensor at the tip. The probe is placed in a holder with a central well which allows a media/oil sample to be placed on top of it. The probe contains a reference electrode that produces a voltage dependant on the pH of the solution. The probe also contains a thermistor to measure the temperature of the sample and compensate the reading. Software Trend Analysis As an optional extra the meter can have onboard memory for datalogging. Test results stored by the pH meter may be easily downloaded to a personal computer for analysis and printing. With the new auto archiving software, the software is simpler and easier to use. | The Vaisala CARBOCAP® Hand-held Carbon Dioxide Meter GM70 with pump aspirated sampling is ideal for validating the calibration of incubators. Incubators are challenging to measure, as the gas sample is usually drawn from an environment with high temperature and high humidity into a room temperature environment, resulting in condensation. Condensation in the sample system can be avoided by using a sample tube made out of a material called Nafion®. Nafion® is highly selective in the removal of water. The water moves through the membrane wall and evaporates into the surrounding air very quickly, usually within 100 to 200 milliseconds. The GM70 incorporates the Vaisala CARBOCAP® Sensor, which is a silicon-based NDIR sensor that provides excellent reliability and long-term stability. Features include ten measurement ranges between 0…20% CO2 and a two year recommended calibration interval. The GM70 has a multilingual user interface and a graphical LCD display. Data can be logged up to 30 days. The optional Windows® software provides an easy-to-use interface to a PC. Probes for measuring relative humidity, temperature and dewpoint temperature can also be connected to the GM70.
