Question:
Could someone tell me why do I frequently get polar body fragmentation before IVF? Am I too agressive when denuding oocytes? Is it the stimulation protocol? Or unapropriate lab conditions? Thank you.

"Polar Body fragmentation seldom comes from denudation. At times, high humidity can cause overall fragmentation , not just the PBs.The stimulation protocols to be verified. If chronic PCOS, Endometriosis or any untreated pathology can give rise to poor quality oocytes which give poor fertilization, fragmented polar bodies, large perivitalline space and other anomalies. Try to check the patient's record and the treatment. You shall bound to get the remedy."

"I've got no references handy to quote from but anecdotally, MII eggs can have their polar body appear in a variety of shapes (big, small, squashed, round...) and also fragmented (along with other bits and pieces in the PV space).

Those that appear to be two perfectly shaped polar bodies could very well be, but what I do know is those eggs very rarely do well.

Bad denuding technique is reflected more in lots of empty zona eggs."
