Question:

During the month of April till 1st week of May, 11 IVF cases were positive for Beta HCG. 6- 7 of them showed between 20 and 40 m IU Beta Hcg. 2 of them showed double rise of Beta HCG (3000 m IU) post 48 hours of the 1st Beta HCG test. Within a weeks time Beta HCG came down drastically. All were on Gestone 100 mg on alternate days and crinone 8% twice daily per vaginally and 90% patients on Aspirin 50 mg once daily.

What can be the probable cause of such a development?

"First of all your pregnancies were biochemical. That is the reason there was initially beta hCG but it did not double in 24 hours.

Your luteal support is a mixture of IM and vaginal. Please stick to one. Either give Gestone 100mg daily or give Crinone. We give Cyclogest 400mg twice daily vaginally.

Look at the endmetrium, if the endometrium is not good you do get this problem.

Lastly look at your culture syste and your lab conditions like contamination, air quality etc."
