Description:
This mehod is a rapid and simple sperm preparation for ICSI. This device comprises a tubular conduit, which has a constriction to create capillary flow. Motile sperm, having passed through the constriction, can be observed to maintain a position within the conduit downstream from the constriction means by swimming against the flow of fluid. The device can be used for preparing sperm for ICSI, by harvesting motile sperm from the downstream side of the constriction means using a micropipette. This method utilizes the sperm alignment against flow phenomenon, a natural mechanism for sperm. It dose not induce any damage to sperm, becouse the procedure does not require any centrifugation or chemicals. Inadition the process of sperm separation is under direct observation and can be easily controled. Other methods tend to be blind and there is little or no control while performing the process and it is not until the end of the process.
